Sound Lock: Lock your sound at desired level

Sound Lock is a small and smart tool that does exactly what the name says, allows you to limit the output level of the sound reproduction by detecting the playback volume reducing it to the level previously set by us.
When you activate the Sound Lock, you don’t need to adjust the sound according to the scenes of a movie or game type, because the  Sound Lock automatically adjusts the system volume per channel (up to 14 channels), and generates a soft sound around the existing playback thus leading to global harmonization of sound.

The controls available allow us to easily set the limit sound output by dragging the slider to the level we desire. For better sound level block Sound Lock allows you to set levels per channel or device.

JAVA exploit leads to serious security hole

It has been confirmed that the vulnerability affects users of Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The bug is present in JRE 1.7 is the latest version. Apple had decided, since the Lion version of last year that it would stop offering Java installed on their machines, that policy remained with the Mountain Lion. However, users can manually install Java on your computer.

The computer security expert Tod Beardsley also confirmed that the flaw affects Macs. Just you have this version of Java installed and visit any page that has been configured for an attack and is replaced by your computer at the mercy of hackers.

It is expected now that Oracle can release a security update for failure. For now you should keep the version 1.6 or disable Java in your browser.

10 tips to improve our wireless network

How to improve a wireless network?
In this article I will give some tips to try to improve the quality of wireless signal in our house, in order to have a more stable network, with fewer breaks and a better debt.

1 - Place the wireless router (or access point) at the midpoint

So we can get cover more areas (bedroom, living room, kitchen, etc.) from our house, causing the signal to higher quality. If we put our access point at one end, possibly at the other end the signal strength is not the best.

2 - Keep the router away from walls, metal objects, glass, etc.

We must try to move away our WiFi router from metals, some types of floors, glass or other surfaces that are subject to interference. Equipment such as microwaves, drills, etc are also a lot of interference sources. Make an analysis of the spectrum.

3 - Replace the antenna of the router (if possible)

The antennas that come with the router are usually omni-directional signal that is transmitted in all directions. If your router is near an outside wall, 'half' of the signal will not be passed because it will be diffused out of the house (for example). In this sense we can choose an antenna with more gain (DBIS) and also directional or sectoral, focusing the signal in a place / area specific.

Valve improves Games for Linux

The game Left 4 Dead 2 had a 14% higher performance on a Linux system compared to a Windows system with the same hardware configuration.

The game was tested on a machine with an Intel Core i7 3930k, Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 and 32 GB of RAM. In the system with Ubuntu 12 and Open GL, the game has a performance of 315 FPS, while the Windows 7 machine was up by 270.6 FPS.
The research team concluded that the Valve Open GL is more efficient to process data than Direct3D technology. The Linux Valve team will still have to battle a lot, especially to get work with the graphics card manufacturers such as AMD or Nvidia.

These tests are published days after the CEO of Valve have stated that Windows 8 was a disaster and that the company would turn over to Linux.
